Advocates for Youth (AFY)
Advocates for Youth offers workshops for professionals seeking to improve the quality of their work with diverse young people. Our workshops draw on decades of advanced training and award-winning research and teaching experience in diverse classrooms. AFY provides a unique perspective based in ethnic and gender studies, social determinants of mental health, and psychoanalysis to help understand and address the particular challenges faced by diverse young people and their service providers.

"It was refreshing to be around others who share similar joys, but also frustrations -- and to be able to re-frame the problems we face, not just talk about getting through them!"

"The workshop gave me a different sense of what my students are dealing with every day. I'm confident this will help me be a better, more effective teacher."
